Thai Massage

Despite its ancient origins, Thai massage remains a relatively new technique in Western culture. Recent research ( study 1 and study 2 and study 3 ) has revealed that Thai massage is associated with many health benefits, such as improved circulation, an improved range of motion, and reduced levels of stress. Thai massage feels to me like a cross between yoga, accupressure and chiropractic work. We usually work on the massage table with a few changes to accomodate the elevation compared working on the floor as they do traditionally.

This modality is clothed, so be sure to wear comfortable clothing that you can stretch in. Its important that the day of the session, you do not apply any lotion to your skin before coming in for services as we need good grip while stretching and twisting your body during our session. This is a very close personal style of massage, to me it feels awakening to the energy deep within my body. I feel stretched, blood flow moving and very energized and invigorated after a thai massage. Yet at the same time, i feel a deep meaningful peace and relaxation deep within me. Our garden gazebo where the thai massage session will take place is truly a lovely one of a time experience. Guests continually tell us what a different sense of peace they get from being surrounded by trees, outdoors to hear the birds, fountains and outside noises while they drift off into their massage. We have curtains for privacy and our tables are heated in the winter, but ceiling fans keep us cool for most of the summertime as well.
