The Beaver Moon was named by Indigenous tribes who observed that this was the time of year when beavers were most active in preparing their homes for winter. Beavers, known for their industrious nature, would build and strengthen their dams before the freezing cold set in. In this context, the Beaver Moon is a powerful symbol of preparation, perseverance, and the importance of building our own spiritual and emotional shelters.
Just as the beaver prepares its home, this full moon invites us to reflect on the ways we can prepare ourselves for the coming winter — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. It is a time to assess what we need to feel safe, nurtured, and supported through the darker months. It asks us to pause and take inventory of what we have built and what we need to strengthen in our own lives. This moon phase encourages us to be deliberate and thoughtful about what we are constructing in our lives. It’s a time for setting practical intentions, focusing on stability, and creating a safe space within ourselves where we can find comfort and warmth during the winter season.
The Frost Moon
Honoring Change and Transformation
The Frost Moon is another name given to the November full moon, signifying the first hard frosts that typically appear around this time. The Frost Moon marks the turning of the season, when the last remnants of autumn are touched by the chill of approaching winter. It symbolizes the end of the growing season and the beginning of a time for inner reflection.
The Frost Moon represents a time of stillness and quiet transformation. It marks the end of one cycle and the preparation for a new one. Just as frost crystallizes on the ground, capturing the last of the harvest, this full moon invites us to preserve what is valuable in our lives and let go of what no longer serves us.
This moon phase is ideal for rituals focused on release. It encourages us to surrender old habits, thoughts, or relationships that we have outgrown. The frost that covers the earth can be seen as a protective layer, reminding us that even in the coldest times, there is beauty and potential for renewal.
Release, Reflection, and Inner Work
Across various cultures, the full moon is commonly viewed as a period of culmination, enlightenment, and intensified feelings. It symbolizes the zenith of the moon's cycle, when its power is at its peak and most influential. The November full moon, specifically, is linked with:
Release: The full moon's energy encourages us to let go of anything that is holding us back. This could be emotional baggage, self-doubt, or grief. By releasing these burdens, we create space for new growth and transformation.
Reflection: As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, this is a time for introspection. The full moon illuminates the darkness, shedding light on the parts of ourselves that we might have ignored or suppressed. It’s an invitation to look within, to face our shadows with compassion, and to understand the deeper layers of our emotions and desires.
Inner Work: This full moon is about preparing for the winter ahead — a season traditionally associated with rest, hibernation, and the slowing down of life. It’s a time for setting intentions for inner work, like self-care, healing, and spiritual growth. As the earth quiets down and enters a period of dormancy, so too can we take this time to nourish our inner selves and nurture our own growth beneath the surface.
Ancestral Wisdom and Folklore
The energy of the full moon has long been associated with the feminine, the cyclical nature of life, and the mysteries of intuition. In folklore, the full moon is connected to powerful goddesses like Artemis (Greek mythology), who was the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, and the protector of women. She is often depicted as a moon goddess, symbolizing independence, strength, and connection to nature.
Artemis' Influence: Under the light of the full moon, we reflect upon the energy of Artemis — strong, untamed, and fiercely protective of herself and those she loves. Her energy invites us to embrace our wildness, to trust our instincts, and to stand in our power without fear.
Celtic Traditions: In Celtic traditions, the full moon was seen as a time when the veil between the worlds was thin, making it easier to connect with ancestors and the spirit realm. It was a time to honor the wisdom of those who came before us and to seek guidance for the future.
November full moon meditation: Find a quiet space, settle in, and let yourself be guided through a transformative meditation designed to connect you with the Frost Moon’s energy. Allow the soothing words and gentle visuals to melt away the frosty layers of doubt and fear, leaving you feeling grounded, warm, and renewed.

Greetings to all in this sacred space thank you all for coming tonight on my first full moon ceremony by the fire. This evening, as the full moon shines upon us, we come together to pay tribute to the rhythms of nature and the rhythms within ourselves. The full moon represents a moment of enlightenment, a period when all is revealed. It presents a chance to let go of what no longer serves us, to heal and release, and to sow the seeds of our aspirations for the days ahead.
As we begin tonight, take a deep breath in... and slowly exhale. Feel the cool air entering your lungs, filling your body with fresh energy. As you exhale, let go of any tension you may be holding. With each breath, allow yourself to sink deeper into this moment, feeling supported by the earth beneath you and the collective energy of this circle around you. Feel the fire on your skin, let it heat your core and fill your body with its warmth.
Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine, extending deep into the earth. These roots connect you to the ground beneath you, to the soil that has held and nurtured women for centuries. Feel the stability of the earth, the strength that it offers you. As you breathe in, feel the grounding energy of the earth rising up through your roots, filling your body with a sense of safety and stability.
Now, bring your attention to the beam of the full moonlight shining down upon you. The last super moon of the year, it’s gentle, yet powerful, like the light of a guardian. It touches the top of your head and slowly washes over your entire body. Feel the moon’s energy — cool, calming, and wise. This light is here to shine on what you must let go of and to lead you on your path to healing this evening.
Take a moment to focus on your heart space. As you breathe in, notice any heaviness, any tension, or any emotion that feels stuck in this area. Without judgment, simply observe what comes up for you.
Imagine that this heaviness is like a stone in your chest. It might represent something you’ve been holding onto — perhaps it’s an old hurt, a loss, a fear, or a belief that no longer serves you. Take a moment to identify what this stone represents for you. There’s no need to rush. Allow yourself the time to feel and acknowledge it.
Now, see yourself gently removing this stone from your heart space. Hold it in your hands. Notice its weight, its texture. Even grab one from the earth beneath you. Hold it in your hand. This stone is a physical manifestation of what you’re ready to let go of tonight. As you hold it, say silently or out loud, "I release you."
Visualize yourself offering this stone to the fire in the center of our circle. In fact throw yours in if you would like. Watch as the flames embrace it, transforming it into smoke and light. Feel the warmth of the fire as it burns away what you no longer need. With each breath out, release more of this heaviness, allowing the fire to carry it away. As you watch it heat, feel a sense of lightness in your chest open up, as though space has been created for something new.
Take a deep breath in... and slowly exhale, feeling this release in your body.
let’s invite healing energy to fill that space. Bring your attention back to the full moon above you, shining down with a bright, silver light. This light is filled with the energy of all that is good, nurturing, wise, and surrounded in protection.
Imagine this moonlight streaming down, filling the top of your head with its glow. It pours into you like a gentle waterfall, washing over every part of your body. See it filling your mind, clearing away any lingering thoughts of doubt or worry. Let it flow down your neck, releasing any tension held there.
The moonlight continues to flow into your shoulders, easing any burdens you may be carrying. It moves down your arms, into your hands, filling them with the energy of creation and possibility. As it moves through your chest, feel it soothing your heart, wrapping it in a gentle embrace. This is the light of healing, reminding you that you are safe, loved, and held.
Let the moonlight travel down into your stomach, dissolving any knots of fear or anxiety. It moves through your hips and legs, grounding you once again into the earth. Finally, see this healing light reaching your feet, where it roots you in the present moment.
Take a deep breath in... and on your exhale, imagine this light radiating out from your body, creating a sphere of protection and peace around you. Know that this light will continue to hold you, even as the moon begins to wane in the days to come.
As we bring this meditation to a close, take a moment to feel gratitude — gratitude for yourself, for showing up tonight with an open heart. Gratitude for the women in this circle, for their shared energy and support. And gratitude for the moon, for guiding us and illuminating our path.
Take a deep breath in... and as you exhale, imagine sending a wave of love and light out into the circle joining at the fire and let it expand and carry up into the atmosphere. Feel this love being reflected back to you, filling your entire being with warmth and peace.
When you’re ready, slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the physical space. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Feel the ground beneath you. And when you’re ready, gently open your eyes, taking in the sight of the fire and the faces of the women gathered around you.
Know that you are not alone — you are part of a long lineage of women who have gathered under the moon’s light, seeking healing, wisdom, and strength.
Affirmations: Now that we have taken this moment to connect deeply with ourselves and the Earth, and the divine energy surrounding us. This full moon marks a time of reflection, release, and renewal—I invite you to set an intention for the next moon cycle. This is a time to plant a seed of something you want to bring into your life. It could be a word, like "Courage," "Healing," "Joy," or "Connection." Or it could be a specific intention, like opening yourself to love or embracing your inner wisdom.
Take a moment to let this intention come to you. Trust your intuition; whatever arises in your mind is exactly what you need. Once you have it, imagine this intention as a small, glowing seed in your hand. Hold it close to your heart, and breathe your energy and love into it.
Visualize yourself planting this seed in the earth, right here in our circle. See it gently sinking into the soil, nourished by the warmth of the fire and the cool light of the moon. Know that this seed will grow in the coming weeks, nurtured by your care and your commitment to yourself.
If you'd like, take this piece of paper and pencil and write your affirmation to yourself onto the paper and give it to the fire. Let new life burn into your seed of life within you. As you focus on that I have some affirmations I want to read to you all for closing.
Let the words wash over you, filling you with intention and clarity. Speak them with your heart and feel the energy shift as you align them with your highest self. These affirmations are here to support your journey and help you harness the potent energy of this lunar cycle.
"I release what no longer serves me and make space for growth and renewal."
"I am aligned with the cycles of nature and trust in the timing of my life."
"I am the descendant of powerful women; their strength flows through me."
"I embrace my wild, untamed spirit and honor the freedom within me."
"I am a vessel of healing and transformation, radiating light and love."
Thank you everyone for coming tonight and taking part in this. We will open up the space for anyone to reflect on anything and share anything they want and if not, I hope you take this peace with you into the next month and join us here again under the next full moon to realign our lives again.
